The tables below show the estimated percent of alcohol in the blood by the number of drinks consumed in relation to body weight.

Use the following equation to determine your blood alcohol content prior to getting into your vehicle!

• Count your drinks (1 drink = 1 oz 100-proof liquor = 5 oz of table wine = 12 oz bottle of beer)
• Using the charts below, find the percent of blood alcohol listed for your weight and the number of drinks you have consumed.
• Subtract from this number the percent of alcohol “burned up” during the time which has elapsed from when you first began drinking. This is .015% per hour.
• Example: 140 pound woman has 3 drinks over 4 hours
  • 140-3 drinks = .10% BAC
  • .10% - (.015 x 4) = .10% - .06% = .04%
